Arlyne B.:
Formerly "Yorkville Packing House," this authentic Hungarian butcher and deli has a really old-world feel, friendly service, beautiful smiles. They're well stocked with Hungarian delicacies and specialties, along with home cooked take-out meals such as Goulash, Schnitzel, Veal and Chicken Paprikash, Palaczinta. The menu changes daily. They also have samples to try. Today I had a bite of their ham bologna -- yummy!

I stopped in today to buy a jar of Lekvar (prune butter) and wanted to stay all day, smelling the sausages, and listening to the clientele speaking the language I heard occasionally as a child.

(bar szerintem csak kinunkban mosolygunk :) )

Ciesse Q.:
"Love love love. Highlights are the goulash-to-go (my favorite's the tripe variety), the deliciously dense pastry breads (ah, poppyseed roll!), the jams and spreads (I'm partial to rosehip), and of course the deli meats (beef tongue is best!). The tall, brawny gentlemen behind the counter have a stoic charm. They are so lovable I almost blush in their presence. Visiting this place is a pleasure every time."

(hehe, no comment...)
